I will be co-hosting a cook book writing workshop together with Emily Richards at OHEA 2017 Conference at the end of this month:

Born in Moscow, Russia Maria came to Canada in 1998 and graduated from Ryerson University with a Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Food Science and Nutrition.

Maria has worked on recipe testing and recipe development for a variety of Canadian and international food companies, organized culinary and tasting workshops for community members and authored several books on food history and low protein cooking. She is always willing to share her strong passion for food, cooking, and healthy lifestyle.
Most recently, Maria authored her first English language book on the culinary history of Russian home cooking:  Russian Cuisine – Traditional and Contemporary Home Cooking (2015). The book was shortlisted for Gourmand World Cookbook Awards 2016 in two nominations – Cookbook of the year and Eastern Europe.

Currently, Maria runs her own business, The Wooden Spoon (www.thewoodenspoon.ca).
